WATCH   OUT   WORLD

WOW!! What a Great Week of SA

Even though there were hurdles to traverse, God used them to His glory, as He always does.  We praise God for leading us to Refreshing Mountain Camp, when a hurdle arose in our original location for Summer Assembly.

Another hurdle arose at the start of the week, with the keynote speaker not showing up for our first evening rally.  Hence, after a wonderful time of singing praise and worship songs, one of the youth leaders, Jeff Peiffer, who had been the PACE Executive Director a few years ago, gave a message to the teens that tied into the theme of Watch Out World.  The speaker, T.J. Foltz did arrive in time for the Monday evening rally.

The rest of the week went fairly smoothly.  Daily, we started off with Quiet Time after breakfast.  The electives were next, with such electives entitled “God’s Orchard,” “We’re in the Army Now,” and “Is Your Cup Overflowing?”  This was followed by Town Hall, which Rich Timer led.  Each day there was a different game to play.  One day was a derivative of a talent show, another day a trivia game called “Frank or Prank.”  And on Thursday the popular “Pink and Blue” was played.  This is a game where the males compete against the females in answering questions which the other gender will most likely know.

The teens then attended another elective prior to going to lunch.

After lunch, Rich Timer and Brad Algeo, led the camp in playing a form of the “The Amazing Race.”  They did scavenger hunts, used the high and low ropes courses, and even obstacles just like the television reality show.  At the end of the week, the winning team was given CD’s they could choose from as gifts.

Free time followed, with supper, and then the evening rally.  During each one there was a video of the day’s events and the SA News, which was done by Wrigley Video Productions.  Then an awesome time of worshiping God in music was held.  Some of the favorites, which the teens really sang out, were “Days of Elijah,” and “You Are Holy.”

 T. J. Foltz, the keynote speaker, would then get up and share a challenge to the teens around the theme of Watch Out World.  On Thursday evening, he gave the teens time to respond to God’s working in their life during the week.  It was a an awesome time seeing the teens respond by going to the front of the assembly area, kneel down, and submit themselves to God.

We find out what commitments had been made during the week by asking the teens to fill out a Commitment Form.  From what was collected, following are the results: 4 accepted Christ for the first time; 7 sought assurance; 31 rededications; 39 who want to make more of a public demonstration of their faith.

We ask for you to pray - praising God what He did in people’s lives during the week, and for God to strengthen them now that they are back in the “real world.”
